My sculptures are currently mainly made of wood. For example, the shape of a certain tree trunk appeals to me because I recognize a human shape in it. My idea of her lets me make my first cuts with a chainsaw. This is how a tense process begins, in which I am particularly interested in the relationship between the material of the tree, its volume, its surfaces and lines and my idea. In this process, the tree sets the tone.
The human form is at the center of my concepts. Humans are part and creators of their living space. All experience is sensually experienced through our body. My art revolves around these connections. Depending on the situation, different issues then arise.
This work is part of a two-part work. There is also a male counterpart. The figure outgrows its living space and carries it over itself in a balancing act of strength. A reflection of our everyday life.
